Reverend Ron King

Interfaith Minister

I am honored to help you and your family create a tribute for your loved one that will acknowledge their love and call to mind their many kindnesses. Together we can create a meaningful memorial and lasting, heartfelt memories for you, your family, and friends. Seeking to experience the deep truth of each person’s and each faith's spiritual wisdom, I embrace and yearn to love the entire human family. I was ordained by One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, New York, NY. I furthered my seminary studies at One Spirit and graduated as an InterSpiritual counselor in 2011. I enrolled in the Integral Mentoring and Ministry program, 2011-2012. I am a licensed Interfaith minister, (City of New York, June 2009). I maintain a relationship with my seminary by being a member of the Admissions team. Further, I serve four students, mentoring two seminary students and being a staff advisor to two students in the counseling program.  I dedicate myself to unconditional and non-judgmental love.

I have served Coachella valley area families by conducting memorial services through my relationship with Rose Mortuary in Desert Hot Springs. I am currently working with staff at Forest Lawn, building a relationship with this service provider.I trained for Hospice with the Vermont Visiting Nurses Assoc. and since moving to the Palm Springs area (Coachella Valley), I trained for a volunteer Chaplain position at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage and for a short period of time, I was an evening(Sunset shift) Chaplain.

With 20 years experience in direct youth services I have expertise in teaching and working with people with profound emotional, cognitive and physical disabilities. As a Vermont Licensed Teacher of the Handicapped, I earned the Vermont Council for Exceptional Children's Stafford Award: Outstanding Special Educator of the Year. This work allowed me to understand varied forms of grief: the grief experienced with both having a child with significant disabilities and the loss of a child; two young men in my classroom experience died during my tenure as a result of their physically deteriorating conditions.

Several friends and I co-founded New Thought Vermont, a spiritual community in Weston, VT that continues today. I have an InterSpiritual Counseling/spiritual direction practice and work with people both face-to-face in my home and on the phone/Skype. I call this work Anam Cara, using the Celtic words for soul friend; I companion people on their individualized spiritual journey.I have a long history of facilitating holistic practices and bodywork. I am comfortable speaking to groups and have experience as a workshop leader and presenter. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University.

Proudly, I am the father of two adult children.
